Android, Desktop, and Web
Lookback supports every prototyping platform on Android, desktop, and web. You don’t need to do anything special to record a session with a prototype, just treat it like it’s any other Android or desktop app or website! This includes, but isn't restricted to:
- Adobe XD
- And any other prototyping tool on Android, desktop, and web
Tip: If you're doing remote unmoderated testing, you can insert the public URL of your prototype into the “Landing page” field when creating a new project, or from the project settings of an existing one. This way, when participants start a test, they’ll be automatically redirected to your prototype.
Please Note: Lookback does not support prototyping tools that only offer their own iOS native viewer app. This includes Flinto and Principle.
iOS is a bit more complicated and depends how you're recording on Lookback.
In Person iOS
For in-person testing, Lookback can record anything on an Apple iOS device with your Mac using a USB cable. Thus, any prototyping platform can be recorded in-person on iOS.
Remote iOS with Prototypes that Can Be Viewed in a Browser
Lookback Live and Self-Test for iOS both work with any prototype that can be publicly viewed in a browser using a URL. For example, InVision, Marvel, and Axure all allow for prototypes to be accessed via a browser, whereas some others can only be viewed within their own app.
To use Lookback with a prototype that can viewed in a browser:
- Go to your project settings (cog icon in the upper right when viewing a project).
- Set the URL of the prototype in the Landing page field in the settings pane.
How can I make my iOS prototype full-screen and get rid of the address bar?
When you set up your landing page, you can also choose whether to show the address bar and other browser controls. For prototypes, set this option to "off" to display your prototype in full-screen.
