In-Person LiveShare is integrated into our platform, making it possible to start recording an in-person LiveShare session instantly without the use of any complex equipment.

In-Person LiveShare also allows for real-time streaming to your teammates. This means that you can take advantage of all the collaboration LiveShare has to offer, including timestamped note taking, chatting with teammates etc.

Before the participant arrives:

Create a Round within a Project

Invite members from your Lookback Org to observe

  • You can use our Observer Lobby links to invite any colleagues or stakeholders to join your session as observers and/or to help take notes

Prepare your test device

When your participant arrives (extension-free experience):

  1. Log into Lookback via the Chrome browser and click into the appropriate Project.

  2. Click the "kebab" menu (3 veritcal dots) and then click In-Person testing...

  3. Click Copy link and paste the link into a supported browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave)

Hand over the device to the participant

Permissions

Help the participant follow the prompts and grant permissions:

  1. Click 'Get started':

  2. Add a name for the session, and click Next:

  3. You'll receive a prompt to allow camera and mic access. Make sure to click "Allow" on the prompt. From there, choose the devices you want to use, and click Next:

  4. In the window that pops up, click on the image/thumbnail of the screen that you'd like to record- Chrome requires clicking this even if you only have one screen. From there, click the 'Share' button in the prompt.

  5. Click "Open session window", in the next view:

  6. In the floating window that appears, click "Start session". Instructions for the participant will appear in this same window once the session is initiated, and the participant will now be taken to your landing page (if you've added one).

Time to test

  • You know the drill. Go ahead and give your participant instructions and tasks.

  • At this point, members from your Lookback Org can also start observing the session.

🚀 Need your participant to key in login credentials or add some confidential info? Request them to click 'Pause' to pause recording and pause streaming to those who are observing. Then they can click 'Resume' to continue testing.

End your In-Person LiveShare

  1. Participants can click the 'close' icon within the floating window to end the session:

  2. From there, you can close the pop-up window, and go back to your Lookback org's dashboard.
