In all round types it is possible to capture system audio from the participant's device. In LiveShare, SelfTest, and Task rounds, system audio capture can be configured at the round level. In Interview rounds, the participant decides whether to capture system audio when sharing their screen.
There are some limitations to be aware of.

Digital Rights Management
On all platforms some audio is protected by DRM (digital rights management) technology. Audio protected by DRM is impossible to record. Music, TV shows, and movies played from apps like Spotify and Netflix are often protected by DRM.
Android
On Android, apps can deny permission to record their audio, many apps do. This includes Chrome. Because the built-in browser within Participate is based on Chrome, it is also affected.
This means you generally cannot record audio from web experiences, whether using Participate or Chrome, on Android.
If you are testing your own app and find its system audio is not being recorded, talk to your developers about loosening the app's "capture policy".
