Overview of user account, Lookback organisation & how to delete them

The Lookback organisation and/or subscription is sometimes referred to as an "account", which can lead to confusion. With Lookback, there is the organisation (org), your user account, and your subscription/plan. This article will hopefully clarify what's what, and how to go about deleting.

  • The Lookback organisation (org) is where all of your research is stored and can have unlimited team members (user accounts)

  • A user account is individual, personal, and it's possible to have a user account without being part of a Lookback organisation or an active subscription. The user account is tied to your email address which serves as your username. A single user account can be associated with multiple Lookback orgs at the same time.

  • The subscription/plan is associated with the Lookback organisation, not the user account. Cancelling the subscription does not change anything in regards to your user account or Lookback organisation, it just means your current subscription plan will not auto-renew at the end of the billing cycle.


Deleting your Lookback organisation:

  • Only when logged in with the owner email can you delete your Lookback organisation

  • Please note that if you delete your org that means your recordings will also be deleted. If you want to save your recordings, download them before deleting your org. Also, recordings have to be downloaded while your subscription is still active.

  1. Click on your name at the top right to access the menu
    ​

  2. Click Organisation Settings

  3. Scroll down and click Delete organisation


Deleting your Lookback user account:

  1. For Organisation Owners

    1. Either delete your Lookback Organisation as described above OR transfer ownership of the org to a different user.

    2. While still signed in to Lookback, send us your 'Delete Account' request via chat (the messenger bubble on your lower right on the Dashboard) OR send us a request via email to support@lookback.io

  2. For All Other Team Members

    1. If you are the owner of any Private Projects, make sure to transfer ownership of them to another team member.

    2. While still signed in to Lookback, send us your 'Delete Account' request via chat (the messenger bubble on your lower right on the Dashboard) OR send us a request via email to support@lookback.io
