We are working on 'Step-by-step guided tasks' (screen by screen)!

'Desktop step-by-step guided tasks' are coming by the end of 2019, and we will roll out 'Step-by-step guided tasks' for mobile after that. Stay tuned for updates!

In the meanwhile...

You can give your Desktop, iOS and Android participants a list of tasks by adding these tasks to the 'Instructions - Participant Message' when you create a project.

The 'Instructions' are shown to the participant just when they are about to begin testing and the participant can re-visit the 'Instructions' at any point during the test.

You can also edit/update the 'Instructions - Participant Message'  on the 'Project settings' page.

Instructions - Desktop view

  • Desktop Participants  will be shown the instructions/tasks on the 'Instructions Panel' on the left side of their screen - when they are about to start a test.
  • Desktop Participants testing a website or a url-based prototype: will continue seeing the instructions/tasks on the 'Instructions/Tasks Panel' on the left side, while testing. (For Self-tests and Live tests)
  • Desktop Participants testing an App or an App-based prototype: just have to navigate back to the 'Instructions/Tasks Panel' on the left side of their screen, to revisit instructions/tasks. (For Self-tests and Live tests)

Instructions - iOS  view

  • iOS Participants will automatically be shown the 'Instructions' - when they are about to start the test.
  • iOS Participants testing a website or a url-based prototype: can tap the 'yellow hand' icon to switch back and forth between the Participate 'Browser' and the 'Instructions'. (For Self-tests and Live tests)
  • Desktop Participants testing an App or an App-based prototype: just have to navigate back to the 'Participate App', to read 'Instructions'. (For Self-tests and Live tests)

Instructions - Android view

  • Android Participants can tap 'Instructions' to read the 'Instructions' - when they are about to start the test.
  • Selftest Android Participants: can tap the 'yellow hand' icon to switch back and forth between the App/website/prototype that they are testing and the 'Instructions'.
  • Live-test Android Participants: just have to navigate back to the 'Participate App', to read 'Instructions'. (For tests on Apps, websites and prototypes)
