For desktop research, a Chrome extension is used to record the screen, audio, and camera of the participant doing the test. This is how it works:

For participants

To start testing, you'll receive a participant link from your point of contact (usually the researcher). It looks like this:<some-text>

When you click that in your Chrome desktop browser, you'll see this:

After installing the extension, you can start testing by hitting "Get started":

A new window will open with instructions on how to start the test.

For researchers

Start by visiting or create a desktop project in your dashboard. Find the "In-person" button to your upper right and click it:

In the next step, you'll be prompted to install the extension for desktop. When ready, hit the "Start now" button:

The extension will now open in a new window, and you'll ready to start an in-person session!
